What is soccer? And why is it fun.
Soccer is a team sport that involves passing a ball and shooting it into a net type goal without using your arms or hands.
It is fun because it is competetive game where you have fun with friends and work together to achieve the same goal
What do you need to get started?
to get started, you need a ball. any ball works but preferably a ball that is about 10 inches long and wide.
You dont really need a goal it score on because you can play games with one. Some games include keep away, kicking against a wall, or just dribbling by yourself.
What should you try first?
If you are just starting soccer, I would reccommend to just do basic dribbling. This consists of just hitting the ball from your left to right foot as you move around. By doing this,
you are learning ball control and ball awareness.
What are some beginner mistakes?
One thing that a lot of beginners do that you should try not do is just kicking the ball with no intent. Practice controlling the ball when it rolls to you. One way you can do this is taking a light touch on the ball so it doesnt bounce away, or you can stop the ball by using your foot as a cushin to and move it back as the ball hits your foot so it slows to to a halt.
How can you improve over over time
Repetition is key. Just continue to practice the basics, like dribbling, and short passing.
